Belonging to the Rosaceae family. Its origin dates back to the Greek period.



Round shaped fruit of about 2 cm in diameter and whose colour oscillates between light red with yellow touches to dark purple. Its flesh is soft and whitish-red, sweet-tasting, surrounding a beige bone.

Varieties: The main varieties are sweet cherries (Prunus avium), sour cherries or sour cherries (Prunus cerasus) and Duke, which is a hybrid of sweet and sour and combines the best properties of both.

Seasonality: We can find them in the spring and summer months, from May to July mainly.
