Loquats
Also know as Medlars, Fruit of the Loquats tree belonging to the family of Rosaceae of Chinese origin.
Description
It has oval shape and rather small size. Its fine skin is orange as well as the flesh. Inside it houses a thick brown seed. Its flavour is sweet with a slight acid touch.
Varieties: We know the following varieties: Japanese, Algar, Chinese, Tanaka, Peluche and Golden Nuget. This last one is cultivated in zones of Malaga and Granada and it picks up big fruits, almost round, and more acidic flavour.
Seasonality: The best time to consume it is during the months of April and May, although we can also find them in March and June.

Limes
Description: Shape similar to the lemon but smaller, with green or yellow bark and whose pulp is divided into segments full of juice and without seeds. The skin is soft and of little thickness compared to the skin of other citrus fruits like oranges or lemons. Its taste is sour.

Pomegranate
The fruit is a globular berry with a coriaceous bark. The interior of the pomegranate is divided by a whitish membrane into several lobes; Lobes containing numerous seeds covered with a cover, called sarcotesta, and stuffed with red and juicy pulp.
Varieties: There are three main varieties of pomegranates, according to the fruit they give: Common pomegranate, whose fruits are those that we find in the market habitually. Granado tart, whose fruit is not edible, but has beautiful flowers used in ornamentation. Pomegranate without pips, is a characteristic variety of Middle East, in which the grains do not have the inner nugget. The most produced varieties in Spain, especially in Andalusia and the Levantine area are: Grano Elche, which matures between October and November, and Mollar de Játiva or Mollar de Valencia, of earlier collection.
Seasonality: It is one of the typical fruits of autumn, since it begins to be collected in mid-September until the end of November.
Flat Peach
Flat peaches have a shape very similar to the peach with which they share their velvety skin and its colour. Its shape is flatter, being a smaller fruit. Its flavour is sweeter than the peach.
Varieties: There are different varieties: white pulp with or without greenish or reddish veins, yellow pulp, totally or partially detached from the seed.
Seasonality: From the end of May until the end of September we will find them fresh in our markets.
Peach
It is a hairy peach and with much similarity to the yellow nectarine, of reddish and orange skin. Its flesh is yellow and has a soft and juicy texture. Its taste is very sweet with a mild acid touch.
Varieties: There are many varieties of red peach. Among them: Crimson Lady, Ruby Rich, Summer Rich, Red Lady, Extrem sweet or Royal Moon, etc.
Seasonality: The red peach is a typical fruit of the summer, since we can find it during the months of July, August and September.
